NICE BLADES
PACKAGING
How do you design the most resource-efficient
packaging for consumer goods?
In average supermarkets, one finds vast amounts of plastic packaging—unfortunately, often unnecessarily. This is especially true in the hygiene product sector, where packaging materials are often glued or fused with plastic and other materials, which negatively impacts the recycling process. Additionally, the unboxing experience often results in bloody fingers.
The Nice Blades packaging is a concept that addresses this problem and highlights alternative ways to enhance both sustainability and the user experience.
2021 / Honorary Mention: re:create packaging competition / Stora Enso

The goal of this packaging design was to create a concept that avoids the use of plastic and glue, achieves a good balance between material usage and branding space, minimizes waste, and also offers an improved unboxing experience.
These challenges were primarily overcome through constant experimentation and refinement of mockups.
THE IDEA
The packaging consists of two separate parts, the "coat" and the "belt." Through optimal design coordination, a pattern was created that produces minimal waste.
The razors are placed inside the designated slots. After folding the coat and securing it with snap connections, the structure is stabilized by the belt.
This results in a simple and elegant razor packaging that offers ample space for graphics and product descriptions.
